The gardening team were a bit short of numbers this week, but work was started around the Village Hall.

The paths are being trimmed and widened, and the bunds are also being trimmed. The long-term planting plan here is being reviewed so that the bunds become more varied and require less maintenance.

The bunds were originally installed many years ago when there was a spate of traveller incursions on to public land. While the bund would not prevent a determined approach, it does signify in law that a barrier is in place and that to breach that allows the offender to be ejected. That’s their safeguarding function.
