Lytchett Matravers Parish Council - Annual Parish Meeting 2019

Panel 2: Where are the village defibrillators?

Map depicting the location of defibrillators around the village

Our aim is to provide 90% of the population with access to a defibrillator within 300m, as shown by the pink circles on the map.

The response time for the Ambulance Service to respond to a life- threatening emergency in Dorset is 8 minutes - even longer in rural communities like ours. Minutes count when a person is suffering a cardiac arrest, so a local defibrillator can literally be a lifesaver.

The Council, along with villagers have already raised money for our first defibrillator providing 24-hour protection for a section of the village. Also 49 people have already taken part in training sessions on use of CPADS and lifesaving first aid. Our aim is to offer training to the whole population of 3500 who live in our village.
