To enable Dorset Council to carry out maintenance work, they plan to close Poole Road, Lytchett Matravers between the 24th March and 25th March 2020. The road will be closed between the hours of 19:00 to 06:00 but it will be open overnight and at weekends. The full (updated) consultation statement can be found here.
They will be repairing sections of road within the area marked in red indicated on the map. The diversion route is marked in blue. National regulations state they have to divert traffic onto the same classification of road as the one we have closed.
In the current financial climate, the highways service has had to focus it budget on targeting the most damaged sections of road and areas with safety issues.
