Message from Dorset Council:

The Government has announced that the Dorset Council area will go into Tier 3 (Very High) from 00:01am on Thursday 31 December. The main restrictions under Tier 3 are:

  • no mixing of households indoors, apart from support bubbles
  • pubs and bars must remain closed, unless operating takeaway services
  • work from home if you can
  • shops remain open

The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Pool area will be going into Tier 4 restrictions. You must not travel to or from a Tier 4 area unless it’s for a legally permitted reason, such as work if you cannot work from home. See more details about the exemptions on travel between tiers on the Government website.

To avoid the further spread of COVID-19 in Dorset, please stay at home if you can – limit your contact with people from outside your household and do not meet anyone you don’t live with indoors. Please celebrate New Year’s Eve safely at home with your household.

Government guidance on Tier 3 can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-3-very-high-alert
