5. 4. To review and consider approval of a Parish Council position paper with respect to the PDC Local Plan consultation.

Cllr A. Bush presented his draft position paper to the members present.

Overall members were agreed that the Position Paper laid a very solid foundation for discussions with the PDC and only two minor alterations in the wording were suggested.

Firstly, that there is a tension regarding housing density between the projected figures for future development and the relatively high level of infill already taking place in Lytchett. This high level of “Windfall” should be recognised in the overall calculations for future requirements.

Secondly, the suggestion that development to the N and NW of the village would reduce the danger of “Urban Sprawl” should be modified to W and NW as a northerly expansion moved the built-up area closer to Corfe Mullen. Cllr Bush agreed to the proposed changes and the Position Paper was approved as a draft working document used to inform future discussions with PDC.

It was noted that at a previous meeting with PDC it was suggested that the Parish Council might wish to revise its Neighbourhood Plan. Cllr Bush has had discussions with PDC and has managed to get an item added to the agenda for the meeting on Wednesday 10th January 2018 to consider adding the items rejected by the Neighbourhood Plan Examiner to the PDC Local Plan.
