The fantastic residence of Lytchett Matravers have come together under the community group ‘The Lytchett Matravers Angels’ and are already helping residents in isolation with prescription collection, shopping and running a food bank, as well as sorting out people to just natter with. In fact, we have had so many offers of volunteers that we have a waiting list at the moment. Thank you for all contributing so much.
LM Angels fundraising
However, many families in Lytchett Matravers are suffering, as are others around the country. These families, who may have been self-employed or on temporary contracts, are now out of work and facing financial hardship until the government support starts being delivered. But we need emergency funds to plug the gap until we know the long-term future. We have started a fundraising campaign and aim to raise £10,000 to create a Covid-19 Emergency Fund for Lytchett Matravers residents. Your funds will boost the food bank, provide shopping grants to needy families and can help volunteers get around to provide the services our residents need.
We are asking all of those residents fortunate enough to have a solid income or pension to dig deep and give generously in this extraordinary time of need. Any amount helps, large or small, but please donate what you can. You can donate via Just Giving: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lytchettmatraverscovid19emergencyfund
