You may have heard about the Lytchett Matravers Primary School Street Design Project, which Dorset County Council are running with UK charity Sustrans and Lytchett Matravers Primary School.
The project is working with pupils, parents, staff and residents, to develop ideas for improving the roads around the school and making them safer and nicer spaces for people to use.
To date workshops have been held with students, teachers, parents, guardians and local residents, to gain an understanding of specific issues around Wareham Road that affect the usability of the road, feeling of safety and attractiveness of the space.
The next opportunity for local residents to get involved will be in the School Studio on Thursday 24thJanuary between 5-6pm. At this session the Project will be asking for your ideas and possible design solutions for some of the issues that have been previously reported. They will also be asking pupils, parents and guardians for their ideas and solutions too.
There will then be a “street event” on Wareham Road on 28thMarch 2019 to trial some of the proposals from the January workshop. The road will be closed for this event to take place, so come along and find out about the proposals and to discuss the final stages of the project.
