The Village Litter Pick on Sunday March 20th was a great success.

It was a beautiful afternoon and the Parish Council Spring Litter Pick was well supported. All the main routes were covered, with lots of children helping out as well.

We also had a group who cleared the Astro area. This had been recently cleared of undergrowth, which made it a lot easier to see all the litter – and there was a lot of it! – 6 bin bags full just for the Astro.

The good news is that the volume of litter is gradually reducing.

We know that one of the main reasons for this is that many of you now routinely take a litter bag with you when going on village walks. But we would also like to hope it is holding regular Litter Pick days has caused some of us to think about how we dispose of our own litter.

It is our village and we have to look after it. It’s also a great contribution to the Great British Spring Clean.

If you see an overflowing bin, let the Parish Clerk know and we’ll get someone to see to it.
