The Neighbourhood Plan discussions are developing well and to help with this the Parish Council approved an initial limited budget to engage Jo Witherden, a planning consultant from Dorset Planning Consultant Ltd., to assist in developing the next version of our Neighbourhood Plan. Full details of the budget can be seen in the Minutes of the Full Council meeting of 22nd December 2021.

In addition, at the same meeting (22/12/21) the Parish Council also approved an initial limited expense to engage legal services to determine if it is realistic to take any action to challenge elements of the PLP / DC planning strategy.

In related news, the final public consultation on the Purbeck Local Plan (PLP) has been launched and is open until January 24th, 2022. These plans will help shape development in Purbeck until 2034 has started. The DC guidelines make it clear that this is a consultation ‘on limited Further Proposed Main Modifications around Policy V2 and I5, which are considered to be necessary to ensure that the plan is sound’.  These do not affect Lytchett Matravers directly in terms of housing development, although they do have some connection to the SANG in Flowers Drove, which you can read here: https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/-/mou-wyatt-homes

Please visit https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/planning-buildings-land/planning-policy/purbeck/purbeck-local-plan to view all the elements that are included within this consultation.
