Since our post about the proposal to close Colehill Road on Monday 11th, Dorset County Council have now published their formal notice to close the Road. You can read the full notice here.

Colehill Road Closure June 2018

— original post below —

There has been an application from Knighton Countryside Management Ltd to close part of COLEHILL ROAD, LYTCHETT MATRAVERS between the Water Tower and Goat House Farm, a distance of approximately 185 metres. The closure has been requested to allow Knighton Countryside safe access to carry out hedge maintenance works from the highway.. These works are programmed to commence on Monday 11 June 2018 for 3 days with an end date of Wednesday 13 June 2018. The works (and the closure) will take place between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs daily. The road closure is necessary for safety reasons, as the works will take place within the whole width of the carriageway.
Knighton Countryside Management Ltd will publicise the road closure in a number of ways: they will place information boards on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the works; they will carry out a letter drop to local residents directly affected by the works; and they will sign a vehicular diversion route using the local road network. The following map shows the extent of the closure (in red) and the diversion route (in blue).

If you have any concerns about this proposal, please contact John Alford (trafficteam@dorsetcc.gov.uk) by Wednesday 30 May 2018.
