Just 5 weeks to the Lytchett Matravers Queens Jubilee Celebrations events on the Recreation Ground.
Thursday June 2nd – Beacon Lighting on the Rec from 8pm
Celebrations start from 8pm and Beacon will be lit at 21:45. The Chequers are providing a bar and the Fish & Chip van will be there to provide refreshments and help you enjoy your evening.
Sunday June 5th – The Big Jubilee Picnic on the Rec from 2-6pm
Put up a gazebo, bring some tables & a few festival chairs, or simply throw a rug on the ground to get involved. You could bring your own picnic, or pre-order one from Café Greywood to collect in the morning before the event. The Rose & Crown are providing a bar. The Village Hall & Sports Pavilion will also be available.
There will be a stage, and some local musicians, including The Chris Manning Band and the Frayed Strings Ukulele.
We would like to encourage village groups, organisations and clubs to get invovled, especially if you are able to provide some music, help towards decorating the village, or would like to offer food for sale on the day, such as pizza, donuts, cake, coffee or ice cream. We are also looking for some volunteers to help set up (& clear away!).
