Starting from around 21.00pm we will be gearing up to light a celebratory Beacon at 21:45pm.

The Chequers will be providing a bar for the evening and the Jo Meade’s Fish & Chips van will be there to provide refreshments and help you enjoy your evening.

Please let us know if you have any ideas for other groups, organisations or clubs would like to provide food or music/entertainment to support this event.

Sunday June 5th – The Big Jubilee Picnic on the Rec

The Big Jubilee Village Picnic will run from around 2-6pm on the Recreation Ground.

Queen's Jubilee Big Lunch logoSo, if you would like to bring your picnic basket, a few festivals chairs & a picnic table, or simply throw a rug on the ground to join us, that would be perfect. If you want to take over an area or put some tables together under a gazebo, etc., for a larger group just let us know.  If you don’t want to cook, or prepare your own picnic, Café Greywood have offered to organised some jubilee picnic boxes that can be pre-ordered and collected in the morning before the event.

To support this, the Village Hall will be open, as well as the Sports Pavilion, and we have organised for the Rose & Crown to provide a bar for the afternoon.

We have also organised for a stage and have lined up some local musicians, including The Chris Manning Band and the Frayed Strings Ukulele. If you are a local band/singer or musician and would like to have a spot at the open mic, please get in touch.

We would like to encourage village groups, organisations and clubs to get invovled, especially if you are able to provide some music, help towards decorating the village, or would like to offer food for sale on the day, such as pizza, donuts, cake or coffee.  We are also looking for some volunteers to help set up (& clear away!).

If you would like to get involved with either of these events, please get in touch with us at
