up to our knees in treesUPDATE: 14th Jan – up to our knees in trees

Thank you to all of you who brought your trees up to the Allotment for recycling. Along with the collections at Upton Country Park and Poole recycling centre there has been a good range of options. Very few trees have ended up littering the paths or road side, so less in landfill  😁🎄

If you are looking to dispose of your real Christmas tree, we will be collecting them up at the village Allotments over the weekend of 11th & 12th January (the Allotment gate will be open on Saturday 11th from 9am through to mid-afternoon, and trees can be left in the sign posted area far end of the car park next to the chippings.). We will shred them during the following week for compost to ensure that they are recycled as efficiently as possible. You can also burn Christmas trees, which is another climate friendly way to dispose of a real tree once the festivities are over.

If you are getting rid of your tree in the meantime you can take it down to Upton Country Park who are collecting from now until January 12th between 8am & 6pm. You need to leave them in the designated area on the left hand side of the entrance car park (immediately as you drive into the Country Park) 😊🎄

Millions of Christmas trees are bought in the UK each year. But what do they have on the environment? Have a look at this video from the BBC if you would like to know more
