Photo of the Standing Solider at the War MemorialMany members of the community will be congregating at the War Memorial on Sunday 13th November for Remembrance Sunday.

Our collective Churches Together group will be conducting a Service of Remembrance in the Village Hall at 10am. The various Scouts, Guides, Beavers and Cadet troops will parade on The Green, where the formal community Act of Remembrance will take place by the war memorial from 10:45 through until 11:15.

Anyone who wishes to lay a wreath at the memorial is invited to.

The traditional Remembrance Day service will be held at the War Memorial 11am on Sunday November 13th. To ensure the safety of those that wish to attend, the roads will be closed in the immediate vicinity between 10:45 and 11:15am on the day. This will include:

  • Lime Kiln Road, from its junction with High Street to the junction with Turbetts Close
  • High Street, from its junction with Old Pound Close to the junction with Vineyard Close
  • Middle Road, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Eldons Drove

As it is only for a short duration, there will be no signed alternative route for diverted traffic on this occasion. More information on this, here: https://lytchettmatraverspc.org/temporary-closure-of-various-roads-for-the-remembrance-parade/

We extend our thanks to all the people that come together to make this community event safe and meaningful for those that wish to attend it.  For further information about the event call Tim Watton on 07824829491 or Stephen Partridge on 01929 459444
