The ‘Not Just WI’ have generously given a donation to the Guerrilla Gardeners as thanks for their work during 2021.
This has been used to plant a Spindle Tree (Euonymus Europaeus) on Old School Green.
A Spindle Tree will be a small tree that should produce an abundance of scarlet capsules in autumn and add a touch of colour at that time of year.
The Guerrilla Gardeners intend to get into action from March 1st 2022, so if would like to join them, please contact Martyn Colvey (martyn@colvey.tv). They usually meet up at the Recreation Ground car park at 9:30am every Tuesday morning throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn and then spread out around the village from there.
If you know of a publicly owned area which you think needs their attention, then let Martyn know. While their main focus is the village centre roads, paths, verges and hedgerows, they are happy to look at other areas to see if they can help.
