Image of The Lytchett Matravers LibraryDorset Council have been running a survey on local libraries, their usage and their future. The ‘Lets Talk Libraries’ survey runs until today (January 7th, 2022).

The survey is for resident’s views, opinions, ideas as to how a library should work over the next 10 years. We urge you to complete the survey. The number of responses is crucial to providing Dorset Council with a full range of views from all parts of the community. You can access the survey via #LetsTalkLibraries consultation – Dorset Council

Having a local library is a central part of our village and it is vital we support the library through using it and by responding to the survey. Our library is not just for borrowing books, and currently provides a range of services, including:

  • Borrowing books, audio books and DVDs, including home access services
  • Online access to e-books, e-comics and e-magazines
  • Providing space for reading newspapers
  • Maintaining local history and reference books about Lytchett Matravers and supporting the village cultural hub
  • Hosting talks from local authors and historians
  • Hosting reading groups, book clubs and reading activity sessions for all ages
  • Providing access to Citizens Advice sessions
  • Providing computer access and Internet connectivity with digital accessibility support from Dorset Digital Champions.
  • Hosting Friends of the Library coffee mornings

Therefore, we would also like you to complete our own little LM survey so that we can ensure that the local village library remains a central village cultural hub:

The Parish Council would also like to hear your thoughts
